The UCLA men's golf team was tied for ninth place following the opening round at the Isleworth-UCF Collegiate Invittional Sunday.

The Bruins posted a team score of 299 (+11) and trailed first place Alabama by 12 shots. The Crimson Tide (287, -1) led runnerup Indiana, which recorded a score of 289 (+1). USC posted a score of 290 (+2), followed by Georgia and Texas Tech at 294 (+6).

Individually, UCLA sophomore Philip Francis and freshman Gregor Main recorded UCLA's top scores. Both carded one-over par scores of 73 and were tied for 16th place. Freshman Alex Kim posted a 75 (+3) and was tied for 35th. Senior Erik Flores posted a 78 (+6) and was tied for 69th and sophomore Connor Driscoll was tied for 90th after signing for a score of 86 (+14).

Indiana's Jorge Campillo and Matt Swan were tied for the lead after carding scores of 68 (-4).
