The UCLA men's golf team completed the fourth annual CordeValle Collegiate with an encouraging third place finish on Wednesday.

The Bruins posted the best score of the day, a one-under par 359, and finished third at 1,107 (+27), one stroke behind second place Stanford (1,106, +26). USC captured its first CordeValle Collegiate title with a 54-hole total of 1,080 (E) after posting a final round score of 361 (+1). Washington was fourth at 30-over par 1,110 and Charlotte placed fifth at 1,114 (+34).

Individually for the Bruins, sophomore Philip Francis and senior Erik Flores were a collective 11-under par in the final round. Francis's 66 (-6) and Flores's 67 (-5) were the two lowest rounds of the tournament. Francis made seven birdies, a bogey and 10 pars and Flores made six birdies, a bogey and 11 pars, as each recorded his best round of the season. Francis climbed 27 spots up the leaderboard, finishing in a tie for 10th place at 218 (+2), and Flores placed 14th, an improvement of 23 spots.

Freshman Gregor Main, tied for seventh entering the final round, fell back into 17th place at 221 (+5) after carding a final round score of 77 (+5). Freshmen Beau Schoolcraft and Mauricio Azcue each posted scores of 76 (+4) in the final round. Schoolcraft tied for 25th at 224 (+6) Azcue tied for 37th at 228 (+12). Freshman Alex Kim jumped 10 spots to tie for 51st at 231 (+15) after posting a 74 (+2) in the final round.

Playing as an individual, sophomore Connor Driscoll tied for 21st at 223 (+7) following a 74 (+2) on Wednesday.

Washington's Nick Taylor and USC's Tim Sluiter captured medalist honors at 212 (-4). In the final round, Taylor posted a two-under par 70 and Sluiter carded an even par 72.
