The top-ranked UCLA women's golf team fell to second place after 36 holes at the Regional Challenge at the Palos Verdes Golf Club in Palos Verdes, Calif.

The Bruins' 10-stroke lead evaporated when they posted a 15-over par score of 299 on Tuesday for a 36-hole total of 587 (+19), one shot behind arch-rival USC, which posted a score of 288 (+4) for a two-round total of 586 (+18). Florida was third at 589 (+21), followed by Arizona State at 598 (+30) and Texas A&M was fifth at 602 (+34).

Individually, freshman Glory Yang and junior Tiffany Joh each posted scores of 73 (+2). Yang was alone in sixth place at 144 (+2) and Joh was tied for eighth at 146 (+4). Freshman Maria Jose Uribe was tied for 15th at 148 (+6) after carding a 75 (+4) and sophomore Sydnee Michaels was tied for 20th at 149 (+7) after posting a score of 78 (+7). Junior Ryann O'Toole was in 49th place at 156 (+14) after signing for a 79 (+8). Individual competitors Maiya Tanaka and Lalita Boonnoppornkul were tied for 59th and 78th, respectively.

Pepperdine's Taylor Karle was the second round leader at 141 (-1) after posting an even par round of 71 on Tuesday.
