UCLA Women's Rowing Concludes Season at Pac-10 Championships

REDWOOD SHORES, Calif. - The No. 13-ranked UCLA women's rowing team finished behind No. 2-ranked Virginia in both varsity eight races on Sunday, March 30, the final day of the 2008 Pac-10 Challenge.

UCLA's varsity 8+ boat finished 17.31 seconds behind Virginia in the team's first race of the morning. Virginia crossed the finish line at 6:49.33 and UCLA posted a time of 7:06.64. The Bruins' second varsity 8+ crew trailed the Cavaliers by 1.80 seconds later in the morning. Virginia finished the race in 6:46.75, while UCLA registered a time of 6:48.55.

The previous day, both of UCLA's varsity four crews raced to first-place finishes. In the morning, the Bruins' V4+ edged Ohio State by 1.16 seconds. That afternoon, the V4+ crossed the finish line more than 13 seconds ahead of Notre Dame.

UCLA's rowing team returns to action on Saturday, April 5 and Sunday, April 6 at the San Diego Crew Classic in Mission Bay, Calif.
