LOS ANGELES - Playing its first Pac-10 counting match of the season on Friday, the No. 9 UCLA women's tennis team cruised to a 7-0 victory over Washington State at the Los Angeles Tennis Center. The Bruins, (10-4; 1-0 Pac-10) improve their all-time record over the Cougars to 14-1. With the loss, Washington State falls to 10-4 overall and 0-3 in Pac-10 play.

UCLA dropped a total of just four games in three doubles matches, clinching the point when Ashley Joelson and Yasmin Schnack downed Bianca Selaru/Aleksandra Stefanova, 8-1 at court No. 3.

After Stephanie Wetmore and Elizabeth Lumpkin put the Bruins up 3-0 with a pair of straight-set wins, freshman Andrea Remynse clinched the win for UCLA at the No. 3 spot, defeating Ekaterina Kamendova, 6-2, 6-1.

In the only match featuring two ranked players Friday, seventh-ranked Riza Zalameda downed No. 44 Ekaterina Burduli, 6-3, 6-0 at court No. 1. Joelson and Tracy Lin were also straight-set winners.

UCLA returns to action tomorrow, hosting Washington at 11:00 a.m.
