Three UCLA golfers completed opening round play Tuesday at the Wave Invitational hosted at Moorpark Country Club.

Senior Maiya Tanaka was tied for ninth place after posting a first-round score of 73 (+1). She was seven strokes off the pace set by BYU's Natalia Jimenez, who fired a score of 66 (-6).

Senior Tiffany Joh was tied 15th after her round of 76 (+4) and freshman Brianna Do was 21st with a round of 77 (+5).

All three UCLA golfers are playing as individuals.

Pepperdine took the first round team lead with a score of 283 (-5) and was 11 shots in front of BYU.

The final round continues Wednesday with Do (7:30 a.m.), Joh (7:40 a.m.) and Tanaka (7:50 a.m.) teeing off the first hole.
