A group of UCLA athletes hosted some very excited middle school students from the Team Prime Time after school program at Drake Stadium on May 3rd. The athletes kicked off the afternoon by leading the visiting students in the famous 8-clap and exchanging names and favorite sports.

UCLA Women¹s Cross Country runner and organizer of the day, Olga Aulet-Leon remarked, "It was an awesome experience to get to hang out with the kids for an afternoon, play games and show them around our campus. I hope we were able to make an impact and inspire them to want to come to college someday."

Amber, a 7th grader at Westside Leadership Magnet, exclaimed, "It was so much fun and the athletes were really nice. I really liked the Wooden Center ­ the gymnastics and all of the workout equipment."

After playing sports with the athletes at Drake Stadium, the afternoon concluded for the students from Webster Middle School, Palms Middle School, Emerson Middle School, and Westside Leadership Magnet with a unique tour of the campus that featured an introduction to an athlete¹s life in the dorms, a trip to the top of the Jans steps, and a look inside the Wooden Center.

"What a great experience for these kids," said TPT Site Director and Bruin alum Amber Burgin. "Most were on a college campus for the first time in their lives and to be introduced to college life by UCLA athletes will go a long way in changing many of their lives."

The students from Team Prime Time won¹t soon forget their day on one of the nation's top campuses and the V.I.P. treatment provided by Bruin athletes.
