The UCLA men's golf team rallied in its afternoon match Tuesday to capture third place at the Collegiate Match Play Championship at The Farms in Rancho Santa Fe, Calif.

Down 3-2-0 late in the afternoon match, the Bruins rallied for a 2-2-1 tie against Florida State and then won a tiebreaker for third place. A par by sophomore Philip Francis on the final hole gave the Bruins a crucial tie at the No.3 spot. Francis was trailing by a point entering the final hole when FSU's Brooks Koepka made bogey. UCLA's Gregor Main and Beau Schoolcraft had already finished with victories and senior Erik Flores and sophomore Connor Driscoll had lost their matches.

In the early match, continued from Monday afternoon, Indiana beat UCLA 2-1-2. Driscoll was the only winner for the Bruins, taking a 4&3 decision at the No. 5 spot over Drew Allenspach. Main, who led fifth ranked Jorge Campillo as the match was re-started, halved when Campillo birdied the final hole.
