Bruin Women Pick Up Regional Qualifiers At Mt. SAC Relays On Friday

Camilla Dencer, Tori Anthony and Tori Pena highlighted the women's track and field team on Friday as all three posted season-best marks and regional qualifiers at the Mt. SAC Relays in Walnut.
Dencer ran a season-best 2:07.97 (old best, 2:09.72) in the 800m, placing fourth overall to improve upon her regional qualifier. Pena and Anthony each cleared 12-11.50 in the pole vault, tying second overall with regional marks.
Megan Jamerson finished third in the Olympic Development section of the pole vault with a mark of 13-1.50.
Also on Friday at Mt. SAC, Shannon Murakami ran just off of her lifetime-best in the 1500m, finishing ninth in a time of 4:27.98. Olga Aulet-Leon finished 29th in the 5000m (17:55.04). Sadee Martinez, who was competing in just the third steeplechase of her career, notched a new lifetime-best of 11:05.85 to finish 14th in her section.
In the hammer, Jade Niemeyer finished 22nd with a mark of 152-11.

The Bruins will continue competition at the Mt. SAC Relays on Saturday, while a few athletes compete at the Beach Invitational at Cerritos College.
