Kocsor, Woepse & Primm Advance At NCAA Championships

Inclement weather forced the suspension of the NCAA Outdoor Championships for two hours on Wednesday evening in Fayetteville, Arkansas, but not before three Bruin men moved on from the prelims of their respective events.
Senior Boldizsar Kocsor posted the 11th-best mark in the hammer to advance to Friday's final (210-7). He will be going for his third All-American honor in the hammer.
In the 800m, sophomore Cory Primm advanced to the semifinal rounds with a season-best run of 1:47.99. He was second in his heat and sixth overall on the day.
In the pole vault, sophomore Greg Woepse advanced to Friday's final with a clearance of 17-2.75. Woepse was a late add to the meet on Thursday and is making the most of his competition. Sophomore Johnny Quinn barely missed the final, finishing in a tie for 15th with a clearance of 17-2.75.
The 4x100m relay team, who were running without their anchor leg Brandon Smith (he hurt his hamstring in the prelims at West Regionals), placed 14th as the foursome of freshmen Jamal Alston and Karlton Rolle, junior Stan Griffin and sophomore Darius Walker ran their second-fastest time of the season (39.77). The Bruins finished ahead of USC and ASU.
Sophomore Bo Taylor placed 18th in the shot put with a toss of 59-2.25 and does not advance to the final. Freshman Nelson Rosario finished 22nd in the long jump with a mark of 24-3.50 and also does not advance to the final.
Sophomore Taylor Hobson tied for 15th in the high jump with a clearance of 6-8.75.
Competition continues on Thursday with the first round and semifinals of the 200m (Karlton Rolle) and Primm in the 800m semifinal.
