Freshman Olivia Courtney (Fairfax, VA/Westfield HS) of the UCLA gymnastics team was selected as the UCLA/Muscle Milk Student-Athlete of the Week for Mar. 28-Apr. 3.
Courtney won the all-around with a career-high 39.5 to lead UCLA to a first-place finish at the NCAA Athens Regional on Saturday. The Bruins recorded the highest team score amongst all six Regionals with a 197.425 and finished well ahead of second-place and host team Georgia, who scored 196.75. Courtney earned a second-place finish on vault with a 9.9, tied for third on bars with a career-high tying 9.9, tied for fifth on beam with a 9.825 and was fourth on floor with a 9.875. Her 9.9 on bars helped the Bruins score a season-best 49.425. Courtney's all-around win was her second of the season.
This is Courtney's first UCLA/Muscle Milk Student-Athlete of the Week honor of the season and of her career.
