Primm Runs No. 3 800m Mark In NCAA At Oxy Invite

Cory Primm ran the No. 3 800m mark in the NCAA on Saturday at the Oxy Invite in Eagle Rock to highlight the Bruin men in the final regular season meet of the year. Primm knocked nearly two seconds off his previous season-best to win in a time of 1:46.20.
Also in the 800m, Scott Crawford ran a season-best of 1:49.13 to finish sixth overall. In the open section of the 800m, Philip MacQuitty finished second with a lifetime-best run of 1:51.64. Jonathan Simmons was fourth with a season-best time of 1:51.99.
In the 1500m, Alex Crabill ran a lifetime-best of 3:48.11 to finish eighth overall. Alec Govi was the top Bruin finisher in the 5000m, running 14:37.40, to place 16th. In the steeple, Zack Torres ran a lifetime-best of 9:13.73 to finish second overall.
In field event action, Scott DiCesare tied for ninth in the pole vault (15-5.75), Nigel Davies was sixth in the shot put (51-4.25), Matthew Kosecki was fourth in the discus (165-0) and Carlo Valdes was fourth in the javelin (196-10).
The Bruins will now turn all of their attention to the post-season as the Pac-10 Championships are up next in Tucson, AZ this coming Friday and Saturday.
