The fourth-ranked UCLA men's golf team slipped into a third-place tie following Saturday's second round at the U.S. Intercollegiate, hosted by Stanford at the Stanford Golf Course.

Almost immediately following their tee time, the Bruins were forced into a rain delay, which lasted more than 90 minutes.

A team score of 291 (+11) left the Bruins 12 shots out of first place, which Oregon owned with a 36-hole score of 556 (-4). USC was second at 564 (+4) following its round of 285 on Saturday. The Bruins were tied with Stanford. San Diego State and the Stanford B team were tied for fifth place at 578 (+18).

Individually, two unattached UCLA competitors were faring well: sophomore Anton Arboleda and freshman Jay Hwang. Both were tied for eighth place at one-over par 141. Arboleda posted a second-round score of 73 (+3) and Hwang carded a round of 71 (+1).

In the team competition, junior Pedro Figueiredo and senior Alex Shi Yup Kim were also tied for eighth place at 141 (+1). Kim posted a 72 (+2) and Figueiredo carded a 74 (+4). Junior Pontus Widegren was tied for 15th at 143 (+3) after signing for a score of 72 (+2) and teammate Mario Clemens posted a 75 (+5) and was tied for 25th at 145 (+5). Freshman Matt Pinizzotto carded a 73 (+3) and was tied for 49th at 149 (+9).

Stanford's Patrick Rodgers was the 36-hole leader at 135 (-5) following his round of 67 (-3) on Saturday.
