UCLA used top-three finishes from its women's tennis (2nd), men's tennis (3rd) and women's water polo teams (3rd), along with an eighth-place result from the women's golf squad, to secure seventh-place in the latest Learfield Sports Directors' Cup Division I Spring standings. UCLA had been in 13th place following the final Winter update, which was posted in April.

The Bruins have accumulated a total of 834.0 points, so far this year, which is just behind sixth-place Duke (849.50) and fifth-place Penn State (878.00). Stanford holds down first place with a total of 1325.75 points. The rest of the top four, in this update, includes second-place Florida (1013.50), third-place Ohio State (932.75) and fourth-place North Carolina (905.50).

The Learfield Sports Directors' Cup was developed as a joint effort between the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics (NACDA) and USA Today. Points are awarded based on each institution's finish in up to 20 sports -- 10 women's and 10 men's. The next spring update will be issued on June 14. The 2011-12 final report will be issued during the week of June 25.

Complete standings and the scoring structure can be found on NACDA's website at www.directorscup.org.
