Bruins Wrap Up Day 2 at UW Husky Classic

The UCLA track and field team's middle and long distance runners completed Day 2 on Saturday at the UW Husky Classic at the Dempsey Indoor facility in Seattle. Kelsey Smith led the way for the Bruins with a strong race in the 3000m, finishing in fourth place in a time of 9:31.45.

Also in the 3000m, the Bruin's Annie Mooney was 22nd (9:49.47), Meghan Marvin was 27th (9:53.82) and Sarah Toberty was 37th ( 10:07.43). In the one mile, Jennifer Owen finished in 11th place in a time of 4:53.95.

On the men's side, Daniel Herrera ran the 3,000m event and finished in ninth place (8:08.46). Ferdinand Edman led the way for the Bruins in the 1 mile in a time of 4:07.33 for 14th place followed by Sean Davis (53rd, 4:14.09), David McDonald (65th, 4:15.48) and Austin O'Neil (69th, 4:16.45).

Nick Hartle completed the 800m in a time of 1:51.30 for sixth place, while teammate Alex Monsiviaiz crossed the line in 1:53.07 in 19th place.

The Bruins will take next week off as they prepare for the MPSF Indoor Championships, held February 22-23 in Seattle, Wash.
