Over 35 current UCLA student-athletes participated in the Winter Networking Night event, hosted by the Bruin Varsity Club (BVC) and the Student-Athlete Development staff on Feb. 12. The event featured eight successful mentors representing various professional fields.

The mentors led roundtable discussions on their post-graduate experiences and provided tips on interviewing, resumes, networking and how to market their skills and athletic experiences in the professional world.

Sophomore softball player and Bruin Athletic Council representative Maddi Mobley said, "Networking night is one of the best resources available for student-athletes. I am excited that I am already building my network and that I am learning so much about how to translate the skills that I learn on the field into the workplace."

Bruin student-athletes are encouraged to take advantage of the opportunities to build their professional networks from the time they arrive on campus. These types of professional development programs expose student-athletes to career opportunities and give them the chance to network with former student-athletes and successful professionals in the community.
