Memorable Moments: Danusia Francis

Memorable Moments: Danusia Francis

October 16, 2014 | Gymnastics

With skill, power and grace, Danusia Francis brings the art back in artistic gymnastics with innovative and dynamic routines that captivate fans, teammates and the entire gymnastics community. She stole the show at the NCAA Championships as a freshman by becoming the first collegiate gymnast ever to perform a sideways side aerial on balance beam during the event finals.

She raised the bar her sophomore year in 2014, connecting her unique skill into a full-twisting dismount, becoming the first collegiate gymnast to perform THAT skill. Francis was appropriately rewarded for it on March 16, 2014, earning her first career perfect 10 with her mother, visiting from England, in attendance.
