No. 22 UCLA Registers 88-76 Win Over UAB in the Bahamas

PARADISE ISLAND, Bahamas - Isaac Hamilton scored a team-leading 21 points to lead No. 22 UCLA past UAB, 88-76, in the seventh-place game of the Battle 4 Atlantis tournament on Friday night.
Hamilton's season-high 21 points help the Bruins (5-2) leave the Bahamas with one win in three games. The sophomore guard made a season-best five 3-pointers on nine attempts in a team-leading 36 minutes.
The Bruins had five players score in double figures. In addition to Hamilton, Norman Powell finished with 17 while Bryce Alford had 14, Kevon Looney scored 13 and Thomas Welsh registerd 12 points and six rebounds.
"To get this one and to rebound with our third game in three days, I'm really pleased with the guys." UCLA head coach Steve Alford said. "We played with high energy. The effort was tremendous."
UCLA led early and saw its lead swell to as many as 11 points in the game's first six minutes. Hamilton scored 11 of UCLA's first 21 points helping the Bruins secure a 21-7 cushion at the 12:18 mark. The Bruins' lead never dwindled to fewer than nine points in the first half.
Looney (13 points) and Alford (14 points) each scored in double figures for the seventh time in as many games this season. Looney finished with eight rebounds, three assists and two blocks.
UAB received a team-leading 17 points from C.J. Washington and Nick Norton, who made five of eight 3-point attempts for the Blazers (2-5).
UCLA shot 75 percent from the free throw line, sinking 27 of 36 attempts.
The Bruins will return to Pauley Pavilion next week, opening a stretch of four consecutive home games on Wednesday, Dec. 3. UCLA will host Cal State Fullerton at 9 p.m. (PT) that evening.
