Get to know the UCLA Gymnastics team through a series of features that will run every Tuesday leading up to the 2015 season opener on Jan. 12. The third episode of Before the Storm features redshirt junior Sadiqua Bynum.

Bynum, who walked on to the UCLA team in 2011-12, has transformed herself in many ways. Once intimidated by the big-name gymnasts on the squad, she has become a valued, high-scoring and confident competitor. She has come into her own personally as well, strengthening her bond with her sister following the death of their brother and embracing the concept of living each day to its fullest.
