UCLA Concludes Day Three at NCAA Championships

EUGENE, Ore. – The UCLA track and field team wrapped up day three of the NCAA Championships, Friday at historic Hayward Field on the campus of the University of Oregon.

Senior Julian Wruck capped off his brilliant UCLA career by placing second in the discus with a throw of 205-3. He held the lead for five rounds but was overtaken in the last round by Hayden Reed (205-10) of Alabama.

Junior Alexis Walker wrapped up her first appearance at the NCAA Championships with a 19th place finish in the heptathlon. She tallied 5,116 points and finished strong by compiling 880 points in the 800m with a 2:15.94.

In the pole vault senior Natasha Kolbo placed 13th by clearing 13-3.50. Senior Matt Kosecki finished 12th in the discus with a throw of 188-5.

The Bruins will wrap up their stay in Eugene on Saturday as redshirt freshman Cody Danielson will compete in the javelin at 12:35 p.m. PT, and junior Zibby Boyer will participate in the high jump at 12:45 p.m.
