Darian Jenkins started the scoring for UCLA at 7:24, taking a slot pass from Sarah Killion and shooting past the Hawaii goalkeeper. Sam Mewis scored her fourth goal in five games at 12:59, assisted by Ally Courtnall. Rosie White made it 3-0 UCLA at 26:25, finishing a miscleared ball by the Hawaii defense for her second goal of the year. Courtnall earned another assist at 30:45 when she passed to Killion for Killion's first goal of the season. Killion set up Taylor Smith for goal number five of the half, Smith's second of the season, at 44:38.
The Bruins' 5-0 halftime lead enabled the team to empty the bench early, and UCLA got another goal at 54:06 when Hawaii tried to clear a cross but instead kicked it into their own goal.
UCLA and goalkeeper Katelyn Rowland earned the shutout, her fifth in as many games. The Bruins gave up just one shot on goal and five shots total to Hawaii (2-3-0). Rowland made one save.
The Bruins (4-0-1 and on a 26-game unbeaten streak) will next face 13th-ranked Pepperdine (4-0-1), which tied Washington State, 0-0, in the earlier game Friday.
