UCLA senior Samantha Peszek was named the Pac-12 Gymnast of the Week for the second time in her career after standout performances in two meets last week.

Peszek totaled six first-place showings and scored 9.875 or higher on every routine, including a 9.975 on bars and a pair of 9.95s on beam. In UCLA's first meet of the week against Arizona on Monday, she placed first on every event in which she competed, winning vault (9.875), bars (9.975) and beam (9.95). At Utah, in a battle between the top two all-arounders in the country, she defeated top-ranked Georgia Dabritz with a season-high score of 39.625 and won bars (9.9) and beam (9.95). Peszek placed second on the other two events with a 9.9 on vault and 9.875 on floor. Peszek has scored 9.9 or greater on six of 11 routines and is averaging over 9.9 on vault, bars and beam and 9.875 on floor. She has nine of a possible 13 first-place finishes this season and is now ranked No. 1 in the nation in the all-around and on beam.

Utah's Corrie Lothrop earned Specialist of the Week honors, and California's Toni-Ann Williams was selected as the Freshman/Newcomer of the Week for the second consecutive week.

UCLA hosts California on Sunday, Feb. 1 at 10am in Pauley Pavilion.
