Bruins 12th after Second Round in Palos Verdes

Women's Golf

Law tied for the lead at 5-under par.

The seventh-ranked UCLA women's golf team was in 12th place after the second round of the Northrup Grumman Regional Challenge Monday at the Palos Verdes Golf Club.

The Bruins posted a team score of 305 (+21) and fell three spots to 12th place at 602 (+34). Baylor increased its lead to nine shots (570, +2) after recording a team score of 289 (+5). USC was second at 579 (+11), followed by third-place Arizona State at 584 (+16). Arizona was fourth at 588 (+20) and Florida and Oklahoma State were tied for fifth at 589 (+21).

Sophomore Bronte Law remained in the hunt for the individual title, firing her second straight sub-70 round. She recorded three birdies and bogey on her way to a 2-under par 69 Monday and was tied with Hayley Davis of Baylor at 5-under 137.

Freshman Lydia Choi was tied for 48th at 152 (+10) after posting a 76 (+5). Junior Louise Ridderstrom was tied for 74th at 157 (+15) after signing for a 78 (+7). Senior Erynne Lee fell into a tie for 76th after her score of 82 (+11) and freshman Erin Choi also carded a score of 82 (+11) and was tied for 78th.

Playing as an individual, senior Brittany Mai posted a score of 77 (+6) and was tied for 66th at 155 (+13).
