Winning a NCAA Championship is always special. But when paired with all that Brittani McCullough endured to get there, it's even more special. McCullough had two season-ending injuries to start her collegiate career, one from a car accident before her freshman season started and the second just before postseason during her redshirt freshman campaign.
All of her long hours of rehab became worth it in 2010, however, when she helped lead UCLA to the NCAA team title. And to top it all off, she won the NCAA floor exercise title the next day.
McCullough's injuries also inspired her into pursuing a nursing career. She was the only student-athlete in her undergraduate nursing program, and she is now studying in the Masters, Advanced Practice Pediatric Nurse Practitioner Program at UCLA.
