UCLA (12-3; 3-0 Pac-12) had little trouble with the visiting Wildcats, beginning the match by cruising to a pair of 6-2 victories in doubles to claim the point. The Bruins followed that up with three wins in singles play, all coming in straight sets.
Singles winners for the Bruins on the day were No. 26 Dennis Mkrtchian (court No. 3) and freshmen Austin Rapp (court No. 5) and No. 121 Martin Redlicki (court No. 2). Fourth-ranked sophomore Mackenzie McDonald was within a game of winning his match at court No. 1, however play was suspended before he could down Arizona's Sumeet Shinde.
With the loss on Friday, Arizona sees its record fall to 8-14 overall and 0-3 in the Pac-12.
UCLA continues Pac-12 play on Saturday, hosting Utah at the Los Angeles Tennis Center beginning at 1:00 p.m. The singles portion of that match can be seen live on the Pac-12 Networks beginning at 2:00 p.m.
