Zaidi, a former UCLA Women's Basketball student-athlete from 2004-07, was most recently the Associate Athletic Director at the Marlborough School, a private college preparatory school located in Los Angeles. She had a successful professional career in Germany, playing for BC Wildcats Wolfenbüttel from 2007-11. Zaidi was named the 2.DBBL Eurobasket.com North Import Player of the Year after leading her team to the Germany-2.Bundesliga regular season championship in 2007-08.
Zaidi will be charged with management and growth of the Bruin Varsity Club, an organization formed to connect the UCLA family of former student-athletes, athletic trainers, team managers and spirit squad members, by enhancing relationships with the Department of Intercollegiate Athletics. The Bruin Varsity Club upholds the tradition and legacy of UCLA Athletics through a united and engaged alumni community while sustaining a culture of philanthropy and event participation.
“Shaina is a shining example of a former student-athlete who has thrived following her time at UCLA,” said Guerrero. “A success on the court, in the classroom and in the business community, Shaina is the ideal person to lead our initiatives as they relate to engagement with and support of UCLA letter-winners, both of which are pivotal to our future success.”
Bruin Varsity Club members are eligible to receive exclusive benefits such as complimentary admission to UCLA home intercollegiate sporting events, including UCLA Football home games at the Rose Bowl and UCLA Men's Basketball home games at Pauley Pavilion. Bruin Varsity Club members are also offered exclusive invitations to events and provided access to fellow alumni in an effort to support networking.
