UCLA Announces 2015 Donald R Shepherd Postgraduate Scholarship Winners

Jordan Williams, Elyse Hopfner-Hibbs and Jon Bridgeman have earned $10,000 for postgraduate work.

UCLA Athletics has announced the winners of the 2015 Donald R Shepherd Postgraduate Scholarships - former gymnasts Jordan Williams and Elyse Hopfner-Hibbs and 2014 men's volleyball graduate Jonathan Bridgeman. The three Bruin alumni will receive $10,000 for postgraduate work.

Williams is entering her second year in UCLA's Master's program for Integrative Biology and Physiology. In her first and only season at UCLA in 2015, she earned All-America honors on vault and posted career-high marks of 9.95 on vault and 9.875 on beam last season.

Hopfner-Hibbs, who is enrolled at Pepperdine University, is a 12-time All-American and two-time Pac-12 event champion, she holds a share of the school record on balance beam, scoring a perfect 10 in 2010. Hopfner-Hibbs was a key member of the Bruins' 2010 NCAA Championship squad and competed at the 2008 Olympic Games for Canada.

Bridgeman is attending graduate school in Tulane. He was a member of the Bruin men's volleyball team from 2010-14 and played in 34 matches over his career. He was awarded the 2013-14 Bruin Leadership Award, which is presented annually to student-athletes who demonstrated leadership on their teams and in the UCLA community.
