LEXINGTON, Ky. - The American Volleyball Coaches Association on Tuesday announced its 13th annual AVCA Hall of Fame class, which features a pair of Bruin alums, Terry Condon and Nina (Grouwinkel) Matthies.

The duo will join two others in this year's class at the induction ceremony at the 2015 Jostens Coaches Honors Luncheon at the AVCA Convention in Omaha, Neb. in December.

This year's class brings the total number of members in the AVCA Hall of Fame to 70, including five UCLA players and coaches. Condon and Matthies join longtime head coach Andy Banachowski and assistant coach Sharon McAlexander, who were both inducted in the inaugural Hall of Fame class in 2003, and three-time All-America Liz Masakayan, who was inducted in 2011.

Condon and Matthies (née Grouwinkel) were both members of UCLA's 1974 and 1975 AIAW Championship teams under the tutelage of Banachowski and McAlexander. The Bruins posted a 28-2 record in 1974 and a 32-2 mark in 1975, going 16-0 in the AIAW National Tournament during those two campaigns.

Condon, currently in her 11th season as the head coach of the UMass Boston women's volleyball program, played with the Bruins for three seasons (1974-1976). Also a part of the 1986 UCLA coaching staff, Condon's #34 uniform was retired and she was inducted into the UCLA Hall of Fame in 1992.

Matthies was a team captain with the Bruins for two seasons (1974-1975) and had her #36 uniform retired. Away from UCLA, Matthies played on the AVP Tour, and like Condon, was also a member of the USA National Team. Matthies was the coach for the Pepperdine indoor program for 31 years and is currently in her fifth season with the Waves' beach team.
