UCLA junior defender Gabbi Miranda (Highlands Ranch, Colo.) earned Pac-12 Defensive Player of the Week honors after scoring a goal and making a backline save in the Bruins' 2-1 win over No. 13 Wisconsin.
Miranda scored the game's first goal in the 28th minute, taking a long-distance shot off a corner kick and rocketing it past the goalkeeper into the upper left corner for her second career goal. Additionally, she cleared a shot off the line in the first half for a team save. Miranda led a UCLA defensive effort that allowed just seven shots and one corner kick.
The Pac-12 honor is the first of her career, UCLA's first this season and a conference-record 51st all-time for the Bruins.
California's Celeste Boureille was voted Offensive Player of the Week, while Oregon State's Bella Geist earned Goalkeeper of the Week honors.
Additionally, Miranda's goal is a nominee for Top Drawer Soccer's College Goal of the Week. VOTE HERE.
