ST. LEON-ROT, Germany - Team USA stormed back from a 10-6 deficit to win the 2015 Solheim Cup, as former Bruin Alison Lee picked up a precious point in Sunday's singles competition.

Needing to win 8 1/2 points in the 12 singles matches, the Red, White and Blue did just that, defeating Europe 14 1/2 to 13 1/2. Going off on the fifth match on Sunday, Lee dropped the first two holes to Europe's Gwladys Nocera before winning three in a row (5-7) to go 1-up. After Nocera tied it on the 10th, Lee won the 11th, 13th and 17th holes to take the match 3 & 1.

Lee, battling food poisoning the night before the Solheim Cup started, did not play in Friday's morning session, but did participate in each of the next three sessions.

Lee is one of the top rookies on the LPGA Tour this season and currently ranks 18th on the money list. The LPGA Tour resumes play in Malaysia on October 8 with seven tournaments remaining in the season.
