LOS ANGELES – Plagued by injuries and poor shooting, the UCLA Bruins dropped their second straight Pac-12 home game on Monday night, falling to Oregon, 62-46. The Bruins dropped to 5-9 overall and 1-2 in the Pac-12 while the Ducks Improved to 8-5 overall and 1-1 in league play.

UCLA had won eight of the last nine and the last three against the Ducks entering tonight's game, which the Bruins played without freshmen Jordin Canada and saw a limited effort from junior guard Nirra Fields, who injured her right ankle in the loss to No. 13 Oregon State on Saturday.

Both UCLA and Oregon missed its first six shots but UCLA got out to a 3-0 lead thanks to three free throws by redshirt sophomore Kari Korver. The Bruins made only one of their first 13 shots but extended their lead to 5-0 (15:37) after a made layup by junior Kacy Swain.

The Bruins led 24-17 at halftime despite shooting just 22.2 percent (6-for-27) from the floor. They held the lead by outrebounding the Ducks 25-23 in the first 20 minutes and made 10-of-13 from the charity stripe while Oregon didn't attempt a free throw. The Ducks were 7-for-34 (20.6 percent) from the field and a paltry 3-for-20 from downtown.

But the Ducks scored the first 11 points of the second half to erase the deficit and build a 28-24 lead. Oregon made its first five three-pointers of the second half to hold a 46-35 lead with 8:55 to go. UCLA never threatened again.

UCLA's shooting woes continued through the second half as the Bruins shot under 28 percent from the field 9-for-33, from three-point range (3-for-12) and from the free throw line (1-for-5).

Two bright spots for UCLA, the Bruins had a season-best 11 blocks, which included a personal-best five from freshman Monique Billings.Another was the play of Swain, who finished with season-highs of eight points and 10 rebounds (one off her career-best).

Korver ended the night as the lone Bruin in double figures with 13 points. Freshman point guard Recee' Caldwell added eight points, four rebounds and a team-high five assists.

Lexi Petersen had a game-high 21 points to lead the Ducks. Lexi Bando was the only other Duck in double figures with 10 points. Jillian Alleyne saw her 21-game streak with consecutive double-doubles come to an end with eight points and 15 boards.
