UCLA Travels to Corvallis for Saturday Match
UCLA (6-6-1, 2-2-1) will play its lone match of the week on Saturday, Oct. 17 at Oregon State (5-5-3, 1-4-0). The Bruins are coming off an unbeaten weekend after a 5-1 win over Arizona and a 1-1 tie against Arizona State. The Beavers were swept in the Bay Area, 3-0 at Stanford and 1-0 at California.
UCLA is 17-3-0 all-time against Oregon State and has won the last four matchups, including last season's 3-0 win in Corvallis. Oregon State's last victory in the series came in 2010, a 3-0 home win.
Oregon State, which is 3-1 at home this year, is led by Allison Pantuso, who has three goals and six points. Goalkeeper Bella Geist holds a 0.79 goals against average with five shutouts.
Cromwell Seeks 50th UCLA Win
With her next team victory, Bruin head coach Amanda Cromwell will earn her 50th win at UCLA. Cromwell, who has coached in 63 games at UCLA in three seasons, could become the second-fastest to 50 in UCLA women's soccer history, just behind Jill Ellis, who earned her 50th victory in her 63rd game. Cromwell holds a 272-106-33 record in 19 years of coaching and ranks among the top-15 winningest active coaches and the top-20 all-time winningest coaches in NCAA history.
Last Week ...
UCLA enjoyed a successful weekend, defeating 15th-ranked Arizona, 5-1, and tying Arizona State, 1-1. In the Arizona game, five different Bruin players scored, and defender Zoey Goralski recorded two assists. UCLA jumped out to a 3-0 halftime lead thanks to goals by Darian Jenkins (5'), Amber Munerlyn (22') and Kodi Lavrusky (36') and increased the lead to 4-0 just 23 seconds into the second half on a penalty kick by Annie Alvarado. Claire Winter completed the scoring for the Bruins in the 64th minute with her first career goal. Goalkeeper Siri Ervik earned the win in her first career start and made two saves. Against Arizona State, UCLA again jumped out to a quick lead on a beautiful long-distance strike by Lavrusky in the ninth minute. But Arizona State came back five minutes later on a close-range goal by Jessica Raybe, and the game finished in a 1-1 tie.
Pink Power
The Bruins used the power of pink as inspiration during their 5-1 win over Arizona last week. The pink jerseys they wore will be auctioned off online on uclabruins.com next week, with the proceeds benefitting the UCLA Breast Center.
Bruins Earn NSCAA Team Academic Award
For the fourth-straight year, UCLA has earned a NSCAA Team Academic Award. The Bruins earned the first NSCAA Team Academic Award in school history for the 2011-12 campaign and have won it every year since. The 2014-15 Bruins posted a 3.03 team GPA to receive the distinction.

Redshirt freshman Siri Ervik became UCLA's third starting goalkeeper this season, earning the starts against Arizona and Arizona State and coming away with a 1-0-1 record and 0.90 goals against average. In the 1-1 tie with Arizona State, she made four saves off 16 shots and shut the Sun Devils out for the final 96 minutes of play.
