October 06, 2015 | Women's Soccer

Seven UCLA players, led by Starting XI selections Lauren Cheney and Abby Dahlkemper, were selected to the Pac-12's All-Century Women's Soccer Team. Named to the reserve squad were Sydney Leroux, Sam Mewis, Christina DiMartino, Nandi Pryce and Katelyn Rowland.

Cheney (2006-09) just concluded a legendary soccer career during which she won two Olympic gold medals, two NWSL Championships and the 2015 FIFA Women's World Cup. At UCLA, she remains the school record-holder for career points (173), career goals (71), career game-winning goals (28), single-season points (57 in 2007) and single-season goals (23 in 2007). She is the only UCLA player ever to earn first-team NSCAA All-America honors all four years.

Dahlkemper (2011-14) made history in 2013 by becoming the first UCLA player ever to win the Honda Award for soccer and helping the Bruins win their first-ever NCAA Championship. Dahlkemper, the 2014 Pac-12 Defensive Player of the Year, led a Bruin defense that ranked No. 1 in the nation in team goals against average in 2013 and 2014. She also achieved academically, earning 2013 NSCAA Scholar All-American of the Year honors.

Leroux (2008-11), another Olympic gold medalist and FIFA World Cup Champion, finished her UCLA career as a three-time NSCAA All-American and a school record-holder for most goals in a season (23 in 2009) and most points in an NCAA Tournament (16 in 2009). Leroux also holds a share of the school record with four goals in a game, accomplished twice.

Mewis (2011-14) became UCLA's second consecutive Honda Award winner in 2014 after a standout senior season in which she scored 16 goals, 13 assists and 45 points. Mewis was also named the espnW Player of the Year and was a finalist for the MAC Hermann Trophy. Additionally, she earned first-team Capital One Academic All-America honors and was team co-captain of UCLA's 2013 NCAA championship squad.

DiMartino (2005-08) was a three-time All-American midfielder at UCLA and a MAC Hermann Trophy finalist and the Pac-12 Player of the Year as a senior. She totaled 22 goals, 30 assists and 74 points in her career and led UCLA to the College Cup all four years.

Pryce (2000-03) was a 2013 UCLA Athletics Hall of Fame inductee and a two-time NSCAA All-American. The 2003 Pac-10 Co-Player of the Year, she led a Bruin defense that averaged 14 shutouts per season while she was on the team. UCLA played in the NCAA Tournament all four years of her career, reaching the College Cup in 2000 and 2003.

Rowland (2011-14) set NCAA records for career shutouts (55) and single-season shutouts (19 in 2014). She was instrumental in UCLA's 2013 NCAA Championship, saving two penalty kicks in the semifinal and earning a shutout in the championship match. The two-time NSCAA All-American and 2014 Pac-12 Goalkeeper of the Year led the NCAA in goals against average in both 2013 (a school-record 0.245) and 2013 (0.273).

The seven Bruins are among 24 players (seven forwards, six midfielders, seven defenders and four goalkeepers) who were chosen from a field of 63 players nominated by Pac-12 institutions. Voting was conducted by a panel of 37, comprised of former and current coaches, former players and members of the media.
