
UCLA Has Three Named All-Region

LOS ANGELES - UCLA's Lane Werley, Sergey Sushchikh and Carolina Johnson were awarded All-Region accolades, the USTFCCCA announced.
Freshman Carolina Johnson led the Bruins with a 11th place finish, qualifying her as an individual for the NCAA National Championship meet in Louisville, Ky. on Saturday, Nov. 21.ย Despite tough conditions and competition, the freshman ran a time of 20:59 on the 6k course to secure her spot on the All-Region team. The Women's team finished 10th overall in the Region.
Sushchikh led the Bruins with a ninth place finish to earn All-Region honors for the first time in his career. Werley also garnered All-Region honors for the second time in his career with a 16th place finish, finishing second for the Bruins. The men's team finished seventh overall in the Region.
These strong performances helped qualify Carolina Johnson and the men's cross country team for the NCAA National Championships on Saturday, Nov. 21. The meet will be held at the E.P Tom Sawyer State Park.
