Bruins Picked 5th in AVCA; 3rd in MPSF

The UCLA men's volleyball team was listed fifth in the nation by the AVCA Poll and third in the 2016 MPSF league coaches' poll which were released on Thursday. BYU and UC Irvine were voted one-two by both the AVCA voters and the MPSF coaches.
The Bruins will return to the courts on Sunday, Jan. 3 for an exhibition match against the University of British Columbia. First serve is at 7 p.m. in Pauley Pavilion. UCLA starts the regular season on the road with matches at George Mason on Jan. 5 and at Penn State, site of the NCAA Championships this year, on Jan. 7 (v. Ohio State) and 8 (v. the Nittany Lions).
UCLA opens MPSF play on Jan. 15 with a match at UC Irvine. The first home match for the Bruins is a Jan. 23 date against USC.
