
Fields Named Student-Athlete of Week

Senior guard Nirra Fields (Montreal, Quebec) of the UCLA women's basketball team was named the UCLA/Muscle Milk Student-Athlete of the Week for Dec. 14-20.
Fields led the Bruins to a pair of lopsided wins last week, an 83-48 win over UC Irvine and a 109-76 victory at Sacramento State. She has scored 22 points in each of her last three games, including two last week. She had 22 points, a career-high 14 rebounds and five steals in the home win over UC Irvine and 22 points and seven boards in a road win at Sacramento State. The 5-8 guard averaged a double-double for the week at 22 points and 10.5 rebounds per game. Additionally, in the two wins, she scored a point per minute, recording 44 points in 44 minutes of action.
This is Fields' first UCLA/Muscle Milk Student-Athlete of the Week honor of the season and fifth of her career.
