ABOUT THE BRUINS
- Ranked No. 25 in this week's AP poll, UCLA has posted a 9-4 record, entering Pac-12 play against Washington this Friday ... this marks the second consecutive season in which the Bruins are opening their conference schedule on the road.

- UCLA's five starters have averaged at least 10.0 points per game, with junior guard Bryce Alford having registered a team-leading 16.5 points per game (the sixth-highest scoring average among Pac-12 players through Dec. 28).

- Junior guard Isaac Hamilton has scored at least eight field goals and registered at least 18 points in each of the last five games ... he averaged 8.0 ppg in the team's first four games – since then, 17.6 ppg in the last nine contests.

- Senior forward/center Tony Parker ranks second in the Pac-12 Conference with seven double-doubles and is also the league's second-leading rebounder (10.3 rpg) through games played on Dec. 26.

- Through Dec. 28, Tony Parker (4.2 o-rpg) and Thomas Welsh (3.5 o-rpg) ranked first and second, respectively, in offensive rebounding in the Pac-12 ... UCLA was third in the conference in offensive rebounds per game (13.5).

SIX OF SEVEN
UCLA has won six of its last seven games, most recently securing a 67-53 win over McNeese State (Dec. 22) to close its non-conference schedule. Against McNeese State, Isaac Hamilton (18 pts, 11 rbs) and Thomas Welsh (16 pts, 14 rbs) each logged double-doubles, marking the third time this year in which two or more UCLA players recorded double-doubles. After leading 30-27 at halftime, the Bruins outscored the visiting Cowboys by a 37-26 margin in the second half.

HAMILTON HEATS UP
Junior guard Isaac Hamilton has scored in double figures in each of UCLA's last nine games. He added 18 points in the Bruins' 67-53 victory against McNeese State, shooting 9 of 19 from the field. In fact, Hamilton has become UCLA's first player since Tracy Murray in 1991 to have made at least eight field goals in five or more consecutive games (Murray had a streak of six consecutive games). Hamilton has averaged 15.3 points per game (10th best in the Pac-12).

1,000 POINT CLUB
Junior guard Bryce Alford has become the 52nd player in program history to have scored at least 1,000 points during his UCLA career. He totaled 13 points in the Bruins' 71-66 win at No. 20 Gonzaga on Dec. 12, pushing his his career point total to 1,008 (currently at 1,063 career points). Alford leads UCLA in scoring (16.5 ppg), assists (5.5 apg), free throw percentage (85.5), 3-point field goals made (25), free throws made (53) and minutes per game (36.5).

WESTBROOK'S DONATION
Former UCLA standout and four-time NBA All-Star Russell Westbrook has made a significant financial contribution to the school's Mo Ostin Basketball Center project – the largest donation by a former basketball student-athlete in school history. In honor of Westbrook's gift, the practice floor inside the program's new state-of-the-art facility will be known moving forward as Russell Westbrook Court. Westbrook starred for two seasons at UCLA (2006-07 and 2007-08).

HONORING RUSSELL
The Bruins will formally recognize Westbrook's generosity and welcome him back to Pauley Pavilion when UCLA hosts Arizona (Jan. 7). Along with his wife Nina (Earl) Westbrook – a former UCLA women's basketball student-athlete – and parents Russell and Shannon Westbrook, he will be sitting courtside at the team's Pac-12 Conference home opener. To commemorate the evening, all fans in attendance will receive complimentary eyeglass frames, a trademark of Russell's at post-game NBA press conferences, courtesy of Wescom.

TALL TANDEM
UCLA's duo of senior Tony Parker and sophomore Thomas Welsh has averaged 25.7 points and 17.5 rebounds per game through the team's first 13 contests. Parker, a 6-foot-9 forward/center from Atlanta, Ga. (Miller Grove High School), is currently averaging career highs of 13.8 points and 10.3 rebounds per game. Welsh, who logged just 3.8 points and 3.8 rebounds per game as a freshman last year, has significantly improved his production as a sophomore. The 7-footer from Loyola High School (Los Angeles) is averaging 12.8 points and 7.8 rebounds per game.

ABOUT WASHINGTON
Washington enters this Friday's game with an 8-4 overall record, through 12 non-conference games. Under the direction of 14th year head coach Lorenzo Romar, the Huskies have seen senior guard Andrew Andrews average a Pac-12-leading 19.7 points per game. Also averaging in double figures for Washington are freshman guard Dejounte Murray (13.6 ppg), freshman forward Marquese Chriss (12.4 ppg) and freshman guard David Crisp (10.3 ppg), who has played off the bench in all 12 games.

CONFERENCE ACTION
Following the team's conference opener at Washington on Friday, Jan. 1, UCLA will return to action two days later at Washington State. The Bruins' game at WSU's Beasley Coliseum is slated to begin at 6:30 p.m. (Sunday, Jan. 3) and will be televised by Pac-12 Networks. UCLA has lost its two previous games played at Washington State (March 2013 and March 2014). Prior to those two losses, the Bruins had won 19 consecutive games versus the Cougars in Pullman, Wash., dating back to a loss on Feb. 6, 1993. UCLA leads the all-time series by a 103-15 margin.

YEAR THREE
Steve Alford is currently in his third season as UCLA's head coach and his 25th year as a college basketball head coach. In his third year at UCLA, Alford has led the Bruins to a 59-27 overall record. After guiding the Bruins to the Pac-12 Tournament title and a Sweet 16 appearance in 2014, Alford helped UCLA engineer a second consecutive trip to the Sweet 16 last March. He has led his teams to at least 22 wins in each of the last eight years, including at least 28 wins in three of the previous four seasons (107-36 record over the previous four years).
