Fourth-Ranked Women's Tennis Falls at No. 5 Cal, 4-3

Bruin senior Robin Anderson, who was able to play doubles, was missing from Saturday's singles lineup due to injury, as was sophomore Jennifer Brady, who has yet to play singles in a dual match for the Bruins this year.
The shorthanded Bruins (7-2) managed to win the doubles point following victories at court Nos. 2 and 3. After Robin Anderson and Chanelle Van Nguyen took care of business at court No. 2, UCLA clinched the point when freshmen Terri Fleming and Kristin Wiley posted 7-6(6) victory over Lynn Chi and Karla Popovic.
After doubles, Cal quickly tied the match at 1-1 when Starr downed senior Kaitlin Ray, 6-1, 6-4 at court No. 4. The two teams then traded wins, with UCLA taking court No. 3, and Cal winning at the No. 2 spot to tie the match at 2-2.
With three matches still on court and all in third sets, the Bears were able to close out the match, and take a 4-2 lead, following wins at court Nos. 5 and 1.
With the match already decided, Wiley downed Cecilia Estlander, 6-3, 2-6, 6-3 at court No. 6.
