Get up close and personal with UCLA women's soccer co-captain Annie Alvarado in the first episode of the new Bruin Films series In Focus.
Alvarado, a junior midfielder from Newport Beach, Calif., is known for her fierce competitiveness, whether it's on the soccer field, in friendly games of ping-pong or in the classroom. And she hates to lose, sometimes more than she likes winning. Fortunately for her, she has only lost three games in her entire career at UCLA, and she won a big game for the Bruins against Stanford with a late game-winning goal, the first of her career.
Alvarado gets a chance to avenge one of those three losses when the Bruins host Virginia on Friday, Sept. 4 at 7pm at Drake Stadium.
