STORYLINES
l The Bruins and the Golden Bears met earlier this season (Dec. 21, 2015) in a rare non-conference game, won by Cal, 108-104 in double overtime in Berkeley, Calif.
l The Bruins are currently ranked No. 20 in the AP Poll, No. 25 in the USA Today Coaches Poll and at No. 25 in the College Sports Madness Poll.
l The Pac-12 Conference is ranked No. 1 in the RPI with six members in the Top 20 and 11 members in the Top 100. Stanford is at No. 5 followed by UCLA at No. 9, Arizona State at No. 11, Oregon State at No. 15, Washington at No. 16 and USC at No. 17. SERIES HISTORY
This is the 70th meeting between UCLA and California with the Bruins dominating the series 47-22. However, Cal has swept the regular season meetings in each of the last three years and has won the last eight meetings overall. In this season's non-league contest at Cal, then No. 19 UCLA fell at No. 21 California, 108-104, in double overtime. Jordin Canada scored a season-high 28 points and had eight assists before fouling out with six seconds to go in the second overtime. Nirra Fields finished with 22 points for the fourth-consecutive game and had a double-double with 11 rebounds before fouling out at the end of regulation. Monique Billings scored a career-high 21 points to become the third Bruin with 20 or more points in the game. Kari Korver was the fourth Bruin to reach double figures with 10 points. California had a 21-12 lead at the end of the first period. California had its largest lead of 16 points (31-15) at the 6:04 mark of the second quarter, but the Bruins cut it to 13 points by halftime (42-29). The Bruins outscored Cal in the third, 27-16 to cut the deficit to just two points heading into the fourth (58-56). Canada had 11 points in the final three minutes of the third period, including a huge three-pointer at the buzzer. The nip-and-tuck affair continued in the fourth period, setting up late heroics for Canada. She buried a deep three-pointer at the end of the final buzzer to send the game into overtime, tied at 86-86. California beat the shot clock with a desperation three-pointer by Asha Thomas to take a 96-94 lead with 10 seconds to go in the first overtime period. But Billings ran the floor and Canada found her for an easy two that sent the game into a second overtime. In that period, the Bruins led 104-103 before Courtney Range hit a jumper to give the Golden Bears the lead for good with :28 seconds left. Range led all scorers with a double-double of 29 points and 12 rebounds. Kristen Anigwe also had a double-double of 25 points and 10 rebounds before fouling out (1:07). Mikayla Cowling had 17 points, Penina Davidson had 15 and Thomas finished with 14 to put five Golden Bears in double figures.

She is 9th in 20-point scoring games (32) and needs two more to move into 8th. She is 4th in three-point field goals made (121) and 2nd in attempts (404). She also moved into 4th in field goal attempts (1,576).

KORVER CLIMBING CAREER CHARTS
Junior guard Kari Korver is currently at No. 1 on UCLA's career free throw percentage list at 83.9 percent (120-for-143). She also ranks in the top 10 in all three categories for three-point shooting, ranking No. 2 in three-point percentage (.396), at No. 2 in makes (155) and at No. 3 in attempts (391).

CANDADA NAMED TO NAISMITH WATCH LIST
UCLA sophomore point guard Jordin Canada is one of eight sophomores and one of eight Pac-12 players to be named to the Naismith Trophy's Early Season Watch List by the Atlanta Tipoff Club (announced Dec. 10). The watch list includes 50 of the top women's collegiate basketball players who will be in the conversation for the prestigious honor. Named in honor of Dr. James Naismith, inventor of the game of basketball, the Naismith Trophy recognizes the top Men's and Women's College Basketball Players of the Year. Canada currently leads the team in scoring at 17.8 points per game, which ranks third in the Pac-12 and 62nd in the country. She also paces the Bruins in assists at 6.5 apg, which ranks first in the league and 11th nationally.

BOMBS AWAY
The Bruins have two three-point shooting contest winners on the roster this year as freshman guard Kennedy Burke won the 2015 high school three-point shooting contest, a competition won by junior guard Kari Korver in 2012. Right now, the pair have combined to make 52 of the team's 82 three-pointers (63.4% -- Korver has made 43, Burke has made nine).

BIG MACS ON CAMPUS
UCLA's roster features a school-record-tying four McDonald's All-Americans in 2015-16 as freshman forward Ashley Hearn joins sophomores Jordin Canada and Lajahna Drummer as well as senior guard Nirra Fields.

BRUINS IN THE POLLS
UCLA is currently ranked 20th in the Associated Press Top 25 Poll with 160 points. The Bruins also received 72 points for 25th in the USA TODAY Sports Top 25 women's basketball coaches poll. UCLA has received votes in both polls every week in 2015-16. Several 2015-16 opponents are also ranked or receiving votes in the AP Top 25 Poll as South Carolina is at No. 2 and Notre Dame is at No. 3. Arizona State is ranked No. 8 while Oregon State is No. 11 and Stanford is right behind at No. 12. USC dropped out of the Top 25 this week, receiving just one point. Washington (42 points) and California (5 points) also received points in this week's AP poll.
