KAUPULEHU-KONA, Hawaii - Bruin alum Duffy Waldorf made a 25-foot birdie putt on the final hole to win the Champions Tour season-opening Mitsubishi Electric Championship last weekend.

Waldorf was bogey free for the tournament (Jan. 21-23), finishing at 18-under par. The four-time winner on the PGA TOUR has won on the Champions Tour in two of his last three starts, also winning the Toshiba Classic in Newport Beach last November.

In 75 career events on the Champions Tour, Waldorf has earned over $3.5 million with a pair of wins, four seconds and 28 Top 10's. The veteran of nearly 600 tournaments on the PGA TOUR from 1985 to 2015, Waldorf won almost $12 million with 62 Top 10's.

Waldorf, who graduated with a degree in psychology from UCLA in 1985, was a two-time All-American with the Bruins, as well as the Pac-10 Golfer of the Year and the Pac-10 individual champion in 1985. He won nine collegiate tournaments, including seven during the '84-'85 campaign.
