PACIFIC PALISADES, Calif. – The No. 21 UCLA women's tennis team faces No. 47 Saint Mary's on Friday afternoon at the Riviera Country Club.  Fresh off a heartbreaking loss to then No. 54 Fresno State in the USTA/ITA National Team Indoor Championships qualifying match last weekend, the Bruins (1-1) are looking to rebound.

UCLA is led by senior Catherine Harrison, who has compiled a 13-6 singles record since the season began.  Ranked 18th in the current ITA Singles Rankings (Jan. 5), Harrison was the ITA Southwest Regional Championship runner-up in October.  The Bruin made a great run at the tournament, ousting then No. 59 Gabby Smith of USC in the semifinals in straight sets to advance to the final. 

Earlier this month, Harrison advanced to the championship match at the 2016 National Collegiate Tennis Classic, where she fell to No. 75 Desirae Krawczyk of ASU.  En route to the finals, Harrison cruised past Arizona's Shayne Austin in the quarterfinals in straights.  In the semis, the Bruin faced Caroline Doyle of Stanford.  Doyle is currently ranked No. 39 in the ITA Singles rankings.  Harrison downed the Cardinal standout, 6-2, 6-3. 

In their season opener against UC Irvine, the Bruins blanked the Anteaters to advance to the Indoor Qualifying match at the 2016 ITA Kick-Off Weekend held at the Los Angeles Tennis Center.  In the Indoor Qualifying match, UCLA fell to Fresno State, 4-3. 

Saint Mary's (1-1) is fresh off a 4-0 win over Cal State Northridge.  In their season opener last weekend, the Gaels fell to Washington 4-1.
