LOS ANGELES, Calif. – The No. 21 UCLA women's tennis team is back in action this weekend as it hosts UC Davis and Cal State Northridge on Saturday at the Los Angeles Tennis Center.  The doubleheader begins with a match against the Aggies at 10 a.m. followed by a match against the Matadors at 2 p.m.

Last time out, the Bruins (3-1) downed the 26th-ranked Northwestern Wildcats, 6-1.  UCLA took an early 1-0 lead when the senior duo of Catherine Harrison and Kyle McPhillips clinched the doubles point on court 1.  In singles play, the Bruins expanded their lead with quick, straight-set wins on courts 2 and 5 by McPhillips and sophomore Terri Fleming.  Freshman Alaina Miller sealed the deal for UCLA in straights on court 3, giving the Bruins a 4-0 lead.

The Bruins currently have one player ranked nationally in singles—No. 18 Harrison. 

Scouting UC Davis and CSUN    

UC Davis (3-2) is fresh off a split weekend in San Diego.  The Aggies fell to San Diego State, 4-3, before coasting by UC San Diego, 7-2.  UC Davis won two of three doubles and five of six singles matches against UCSD and ended its road trip through San Diego on a positive note. 

Last time out, Cal State Northridge (2-3) defeated UC Riverside, 6-1, rebounding from a loss to Long Beach State the day before.  The Matadors won the first two doubles matches against UCR and then claimed five singles victories to post their first conference win of the season.
