KYLEE PEREZ NAMED PAC-12 PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Sophomore Kylee Perez has been named Pac-12 Conference Player of the Week after her outstanding offensive display at the Mary Nutter Collegiate Classic I last weekend.

Perez had hits in all five games in Cathedral City, going 11-for-16 (.688) with seven runs batted in, five runs scored, two home runs, two walks and a stolen base. She had multiple hits in four of the five contests and at least three RBI in two games.

After posting a single and a walk in last Friday's win over #15 UCF, Perez recorded five hits in Saturday's doubleheader. She was 3-for-3 with a walk against Notre Dame and then set a new career high in RBI with four versus Cal Poly. Perez had a three-run homer and an RBI double, scoring twice against the Mustangs.

On Sunday, Perez continued her hit barrage with two singles against #4 LSU, also scoring a run. In the weekend finale with Pacific, the sophomore added three more hits, three RBI and two runs scored on a two-run homer and the mercy-rule winning RBI single in the fifth inning.

Perez, who has a hit in every game this season, is tied for second on the team with a .500 batting average and two home runs, solo second with nine runs scored, fourth with seven runs batted in and first with four sacrifice hits.

It is the first career conference POW award for Perez and the 75th Pac-10/12 Player of the Week honor for UCLA.

BENNETT, SPAULDING ON PLAYER OF THE YEAR WATCH LIST
Senior Allexis Bennett and junior Delaney Spaulding have been named to the 2016 USA Softball Collegiate Player of the Year Top 50 Watch List, as announced by ASA/USA Softball on Feb. 3.

In its 15th year, the USA Softball Collegiate Player of the Year award, given by the National Governing Body for softball in the United States, is designed to recognize outstanding athletic achievement by female collegiate softball players across the country. Previous recipients of the award include former Bruin Stacey Nuveman, the winner of the inaugural accolade in 2002.

The pre-season Watch List includes 25 seniors, 15 juniors and 10 sophomores. Freshmen can be considered for the award once they have competed at the collegiate level. The Top 25 finalists for the award will be announced on April 13. While an athlete does not have to be on the Watch List to be considered for the Top 25, the eventual USA Softball Collegiate Player of the Year will come from the Top 25 finalists.

The Top 10 finalists will be announced on May 11 and the Top Three finalists will be announced on May 25. On May 31, prior to the start of the 2016 NCAA Women's College World Series in Oklahoma City, the USA Softball Collegiate Player of the Year will be revealed.
