SAN FRANCISCO -- The Pac-12 Conference office has announced the 15-member All-Pac-12 Women's Basketball team, as well as the five member Pac-12 All-Defensive and Pac-12 All-Freshman teams, as voted on by the league's 12 head coaches.. Among those selected are three-time all-conference honorees: Oregon's Jillian Alleyne, UCLA's Nirra Fields, Washington's Kelsey Plum and Oregon State's Sydney Wiese.
Fields also garnered Honorable Mention All-Defensive Team honors and ranks in the top 20 in five different statistical categories, including fifth in the Pac-12 in scoring at 16.5 points per game and 18th in the league in rebounding (5.7 rpg). The senior guard also ranks third in steals at 2.3 steals per game.
Point guard Jordin Canada, who was named the 2015 Freshman of the Year, earned her first All-Pac-12 honors in 2016. She was also named to the five-person All-Defensive Team. The sophomore appears in the top 20 in seven different statistical categories, including sixth in the Pac-12 in scoring (16.1 ppg). She leads the league in assists (6.0 apg) and is second in both steals (2.5 spg) and in assist/turnover ratio (2.0).
Forward Monique Billings earned Honorable Mention All-Pac-12 accolades this year. The sophomore appears in the top 20 in six different statistical categories, including 17th in the Pac-12 in scoring (12.4 ppg) and 10th in rebounding (8.1 rpg). She is also sixth in blocked shots at 1.5 bpg. She is second in offensive rebounds per game in the league at 3.6 per contest.
Kennedy Burke was named to the five-person All-Freshman team. She is averaging 5.7 points and 3.8 rebounds while ranking tied for 15th in the Pac-12 in blocks at 0.8 blocks per game. She has tallied 19 blocks and 19 steals in 18 league games.
The Pac-12 Player of the Year, Freshman of the Year, Defensive Player of the Year, Scholar-Athlete of the Year and Coach of the Year will be unveiled tonight, Monday, Feb. 29 by the Pac-12 Networks on Pac-12 Sports Report that airs at 6 p.m. PT/9 p.m. ET.
The Pac-12 Women's Basketball Tournament takes place this week, March 3-6, in Seattle at KeyArena. Tickets are available for purchase at pac-12.com/tickets.
