LOS ANGELES – UCLA (24-8) earned a No. 3 seed in its 13th berth in the NCAA Tournament and will face 14th-seeded Hawai'i (21-10) on Saturday, March 19, at 3:30 p.m. PT, with the game being televised on ESPN2. The Bruins are in the Bridgeport, Conn., Region and will host the first and second rounds of the tournament at Pauley Pavilion. The other first-round game in Los Angeles pairs sixth-seeded South Florida (23-9) and No. 11 seed Colorado State (31-1) on Saturday, March 19 at 6 p.m. PT.

This is the first NCAA appearance for UCLA since 2013, when the Bruins also earned a three-seed. That year, the Bruins fell to No. 6 Oklahoma in the second round in Columbus, Ohio. UCLA won the WNIT last year with a 62-60 win at West Virginia, which also made this year's field. UCLA owns an 11-12 record all-time in the NCAA Tournament, including a 2-1 record in games played in Pauley Pavilion. The last time UCLA hosted and played in an NCAA Tournament game at home was in 1999. That season, the Bruins defeated Wisconsin-Green Bay and Kentucky, eventually falling to Louisiana Tech in the Elite Eight, the program's best-ever finish in the NCAA Tournament.
This season, the No. 10/12 Bruins finished tied for third in the Pac-12 with a 14-4 record while going 24-8 during the season, including a 13-1 home mark. The Bruins have been ranked in the Associated Press Top 25 in each of the last 15 weeks. Eight teams UCLA faced during the regular season made the NCAA Tournament with the Bruins sporting a 6-6 record against the field.
