Kort Peterson was named UCLA/Muscle Milk Student-Athlete of the Week.

Junior outfielder Kort Peterson (Mountain View, Calif.) of the UCLA baseball team was named the UCLA/Muscle Milk Student-Athlete of the Week for Mar. 7-13.

Peterson hit .429 during the week week, leading the Bruins to a 2-2 record, including a 2-1 series win over Texas. The junior went 6-for-14, cranking his first two career home runs in back-to-back games on Friday and Saturday. The home run on Saturday served as a walk-off in the bottom of the ninth to lift UCLA to a one-run victory. Peterson totaled two home runs, one double, six runs, six RBI and four walks on the week. He recorded at least one hit, one run and one RBI in all four games, including a pair of two-hit games, a pair of two-run games and a three-RBI game. On the season, Peterson now leads UCLA in batting average (.377), home runs (2), RBI (11), slugging percentage (.566) and on-base percentage (.493).

This is Peterson's first UCLA/Muscle Milk Student-Athlete of the Week honor of the season and of his career.
