LOS ANGELES – The second annual Jim Bush Collegiate Invitational will once again be featured on Track Tuesday on the Pac-12 Networks. UCLA will welcome Washington State and Arizona on March 22 at Drake Stadium. The field events will begin at Noon while the live track window will start at 4 p.m. 

The meet is called the Jim Bush Collegiate Invitational after Hall of Fame coach Jim Bush. The legendary Bruin coach served as the UCLA men's head coach for 20 years (1965-84), leading UCLA to five NCAA championships and seven Pac-8/10 titles.

Washington State returns to Drake Stadium for the third consecutive season. The two teams will be meeting for the sixth time on the women's side as UCLA holds a 4-1 all-time advantage and for the 10th time for the men with UCLA leading, 7-2. The Bruins swept the Cougars last year as the men won by a score of 147-132 while the women won 164-152.

Arizona will be facing UCLA in a dual for the first time. The UCLA coaching staff has some history with Arizona as Mike Maynard was the associate head coach in Tucson for 13 years where he guided 32 individual NCAA Division I All-Americans, including three NCAA National Champions. John Frazier also coached at Arizona.

UCLA is coming off an indoor campaign that showcased five Bruins that were named USTFCCCA first-team All-American while two more garnered second team accolades. The distance medley relay and Nicholas Scarvelis were awarded first team honors while shot putters Braheme Days and Dotun Ogundeji were named to the second team.

The Bruins will take the rest of Spring Break off and return to the track for the Bruins Legend of Track and Field Invitational. The two-day meet will begin on April 1. Drake Stadium will also be home to the Legends Distance Carnival on April 1.
