Five members the Pac-12 Champion UCLA Gymnastics team were named to the 2016 Pac-12 All-Conference teams, including multiple honoree Sadiqua Bynum and four-time honoree Danusia Francis.
The All-Conference first team consists of the top six all-around competitors, plus the top three competitors in each individual event who are not among the all-around honorees. Scores are determined by regional qualifying score (entire season composite) after the Pac-12 Championships. After the top six all-arounders and the top three student-athletes from each event were named to the first team, a 10-member All-Conference second-team was selected. The same formula used for selecting the first team was used to select the second team.
Bynum, a senior from Berkeley, Calif., received first-team acclaim on vault and floor exercise. Her floor exercise award was the second consecutive in her career, and her vault award is the first. Francis, a senior from Kenilworth, England, earned her fourth career honor on balance beam.
Earning All-Pac-12 honors for the first time in their careers are junior Angi Cipra, who was named to the first team on floor exercise; senior Sophina DeJesus, who earned second-team acclaim on uneven bars; and freshman Katelyn Ohashi, who received second-team honors on balance beam.
