EUGENE, Ore. – The sixth-ranked UCLA men's tennis team continues its three-match road trip this weekend when it opens Pac-12 play against No. 26 Oregon on Friday at 5 pm PDT.  From there, the Bruins travel to Seattle to face No. 39 Washington on Sunday at noon.

Last time out, the Bruins (12-2) cruised to a 6-1 victory over UNLV.  UCLA swept doubles and won five of six singles matches, four of which were in straight sets. 

The Bruins are led by the usual suspects.  Ninth-ranked Mackenzie McDonald leads the squad with an 8-1 record at the top of the lineup.  The junior is 6-1 against ranked opponents this spring—his only loss at the hands of Virginia's Ryan Shane, ranked 11th at the time.  Sharing time at Nos. 2 and 3, Martin Redlicki and Gage Brymer have recorded 9-3 and 9-5 dual-match marks, respectively.  Karue Sell boasts an unblemished record in dual matches—4-0 at No. 3 and 8-0 and No. 4.  The senior is also undefeated against ranked opponents this spring. 

Joining McDonald in the ITA singles rankings are No. 41 Brymer, No. 49 Redlicki, and No. 98 Sell.  In doubles, McDonald and Redlicki check in at No. 4.     

Scouting the Ducks

After taking 10 days off from competing due to winter quarter finals, the Ducks (13-1) played an early week match at No. 44 Drake on Tuesday.  The Ducks lost for the first time since Jan. 24 as the Bulldogs won 4-3.  The Ducks return home to host UCLA and USC this weekend.  Oregon has been tough to beat at home and that remains true this season as the Ducks are 9-0 in the Student Tennis Center.  UO is outscoring its opponents 59-4 at home this year.

The Ducks currently have one player ranked nationally in singles—No. 94 Daan Maasland.  In doubles, Jayson Amos and Armando Soemamo are ranked 20th.

Scouting the Huskies

Last time out, Washington (13-4) registered two 7-0 sweeps in a doubleheader against Eastern Washington.  In both matches, the Huskies swept doubles and took each singles match in straights.  Mitch Stewart led the charge for the Dawgs, grabbing two singles victories on court 1.  The sophomore enters this weekend with a 12-2 dual match singles record, and has been ranked as high as 68th in the country this season.
